Dearest Friends, It is with the heaviest heart that I must share this email that I just received: Mrs Sylvie KOMPANIETZ and her children, Paul-Adrien, Natacha and Pierre-Igor regret to inform you that her husband and their father, Doctor Jol KOMPANIETZ OBGYN.net International Representative, FRANCE suddenly passed away on june 20th 1999. Henri CHEGUILLAUME Barbara, Bruce, and I are preparing a tribute to Joel on OBGYN.net. He was a very special person, wonderful doctor, and great family man. He stayed with us and Dr. Rick Chudacoff and family about a year and a half ago when he, Sylvie, and Paul-Adrien visited the United States. Dr. Joel was part of the OBGYN.net family from the very beginning. His participation in the Women's Health Forum, OBGYN-L and in building the French resources up is well known among his colleagues and friends. Personally his wit, charm, and joy in life will always stand out in my memory. At this time I know no details of this tragedy. He was only 38 years old.
