Living with Osteoporosis, by A. Elisabeth de Boer Oosterhuisis our FEATURE OF THE MONTH. This article was run in August of 1998, One out of 3 women and one out of 12 men suffer from osteoporosis. From an "old ladies disease", osteoporosis is now looked upon as a serious epidemic not only in Europe. You do not have to be old to suffer from osteoporosis. Men and women in their twenties, thirties and forties have been afflicted with osteoporosis, although it is more usual to women in their fifties and later. British Medical Journal's eBMJ is one of our HOT FINDS this month. The BMJ aims to help doctors everywhere practise better medicine and to influence the debate on health. To achieve these aims we publish original scientific studies, review and educational articles, and papers commenting on the clinical, scientific, social, political, and economic factors affecting health. We are delighted to receive articles for publication in all of these categories - from doctors and others. Our SPECIAL FEATURE is Investigational Osteoporosis Drug Promising by InteliHealth.
