Dear Fellow Burnout Candidates, Please check "The Latest Bad News" for a few reimbursement changes and my latest thoughts about recruiting the TMA to help us get our word out. I think we need to turn the heat up a little on them. Several of you have sent me copies of emails you sent to Steve Levine at the TMA in response to his letter to me that's posted on the site. I imagine the letters got his attention, but we need to nudge him (and his superiors) a little more just to remind them we're here, we're growing fast, and we're dues-paying TMA members. I'd like to encourage every one of my Texas Burnout Candidates (TBC's?) to drop Mr. Levine a quick note explaining in very positive terms WHY you believe he should mention the site in "Texas Medicine" and also on the TMA web site. Once you've composed your note, please CC a copy of it to any bigwigs you know personally at the TMA. Also CC copies to: 1. sharon_t@texmed.org (the exective offices --> ATTN: President and Executive Director) 2. susan_n@texmed.org (the managed care office of TMA) 3. johanna_f@texmed.org (who, I believe, has something to do with the web site) 4. austintxmd@earthlink.net (so I can get an idea of how big a blizzard of email this site can currently be counted on to generate if needed) Please notice the "Bad News" item about recruiting anesthesiologists to post info about this site in the O.R. Doctors' Locker Rooms, and try to help that happen in your city ASAP. The anesthesiologists have the ears of dozens of docs every day, and they are in a superb position to fuel this fire if we get them interested. It feels good to actually be doing something positive, not just wringing our hands, doesn't it? Check out the "Letters" page to get an idea of how big an impact we're already having. AustinTxMD
