*** Older mothers may live longer, study says Women who are able to have children later in life may also live longer, doctors said Wednesday. Researchers at Harvard Medical School studied records of two groups of women born in 1896. The researchers found that women who lived to be at least age 100 were four times more likely to have had children while in their 40s than women who survived only to age 73. The researchers said the genes that allowed a woman to have children later might also slow the rate of aging and decrease susceptibility to diseases in old age.
