The AOL browser does not support any plugin (or cookie) technology at all! To use a plugin on AOL you must download and install the Netscape browser. ichat has documented how that can be done for AOL users at http://www.ichat.com/download/aol.html Even if you can not download and install the plugin software you can still participate in chat and the fun! The HTML form version will always work in all situations. The downside is that the interface is not nearly as powerful and nice as the plugin. If you are on a reasonably fast connection, you can select the Java Lite version which is a big step-up from simple HTML forms. The downside of Java is you have to wait a minute or two for all the Java code to download to your computer. Lastly, the original internet chat protocol (IRC) will work too. When you login choice the Java or HTML version of chat. We know that the biggest downside to the chat system is the requirement that you download & install an extra piece of software. It is no different then any other application like Real Audio, Shock Wave, or wish to read Acrobat PDF files, or wish to be able to view a Microsoft Word document, etc. If you need help with the plugin please email me at technology@obgyn.net and I'll respond ASAP.
