Is it ethically corrected?

I have a 18 yold patient, G1P1, post partum (csection) for 2 months. She came to me today because she is interested to put IUD. The problem is, her treshold for pain is very low, I had immense difficulty to do the pap smear. She actually sweated when I put the speculum (#1). But we managed to collect it.

She doesn't want to take the pill anymore, condom, diaphragma and injectable contraception is out of question for her, she wants to IUD.

My question is:

Would you try to put an IUD on this patient? She actualy jumped from the table during the epidural. Would you use general anesthesia to do so?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
