alendronate & calcium in urine

A relative taking alendronate for osteopenia was advised that she must have a calcium absorption problem as evidenced, in part, by the lack of calcium output in a 24-hour urine. Her osteo specialist later backed down on this assertion, noting an article showing a decrease in urine calcium among hypercalciuric rats on alendronate, as well as the presence of calcium in my relative's 24 hour urine while off alendronate. Do any osteo gurus out there have knowledge of expected urine calcium output in women on alendronate?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
