Again, it doesn't happen this way where I work. It doesn't *matter* what the labor nurses think....they are there to support the parents and the provider (MD or CNM) in a plan which, hopefully, has been devised well prior to the labor, and after much thought, consultation, and consideration of all the issues.

It is not an issue up for discussion, nor can a plan be *vetoed* by the labor nurse if it falls into the clinically accepted guidelines of the institution.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
