This is an excellent point. Bob Woolley's comment about sending the patient to another doctor is appropriate, but there is a legal (and a humanitarian) limit to how FAST you can do this. I don't know if this is a state by state (or country by country) thing, but "usually" you have to give the patient 4-6 weeks to find another doctor and transfer records, right?
