Ashely

I don't think anyone has alot of experience following a anecephalic FHT's. Junior may or may not have an intact brainstem. Unless there is a severely acidotic state the heart tracing may alway be flat. If Junior is vertex with an intact brainstem there is going to be a big time Cushing response from any functioning barorecetors.

I would advise fetal monitoring prior to labor to see what kind of tracing you see before labor. Squeeze Junior's head transfundally and see if the heart rate responds (Chez taught us that trick to see if its breech.)

I agree with Armando. This is not your pregancy; respect your patients wishes. I''ve seen you do enough sections to know you won't hurt her.

Take care, Say hi to Jorge, Big Tim, and Jackster

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
