I believe a patient with an unknown scar, perhaps vertical has a 10% chance of uterine rupture with TOL. This lady should be informed of the risk/benefits. Many women whatever the scar may choose TOL, and it is safe if done in a hospital where an emergency C/S etc is readibly available. You might try and find a CNM to deliver her in a hospital with immediate c/s back up available. The best of both worlds is avialable in most communities.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
