Ron She had a baby with herpetic encephalopathy. If she wants a C/S I would do it, cause if you miss a small lesion and the baby is infected. You know who will be at your door. However I do agree with you it may be clinically unnecessary. I would also use prophylactic Acyclovar in the third trimester. Myer

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
