She had a baby with herpetic encephalopathy. If she wants a C/S I would do it, cause if you miss a small lesion and the baby is infected. You know who will be at your door. However I do agree with you it may be clinically unnecessary. I would also use prophylactic Acyclovar in the third trimester.
