Making an assumption that no contractions are present; bleeding has stopped, no change has been seen in 24-48hrs, and that infection is not an issue; given the 15-20mm value this early in preg, many would consider cerclage. Only problem is that lack of data exists as to true risk. Since most of our cerclages are done for less significant hx than above, this one might even be indicated.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
