Re: OB: new casesFrom: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Mon May 31 07:45:56 1999
SNIP "evidence is clear that induction for macrosomia results in increased c/s rate." SNIP Evidence is just as clear that Non-induction at 41 weeks increases the Cesarean rate just as much as induction at 41 weeks does. The evidence that induction reduces the stillbirth rate is almost but not quite as good. Check out "CMAJ 1999;160:1145-49" Effect of Labour induction on rates of stillbirth and cesarean section in post-term pregnancies. By Sue-A-Quan, Hannah, Cohen, Foster, and Liston. R. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
