Cervical length questionFrom: Betsy Hyde (elishyde@connix.com)Wed May 19 21:47:27 1999
G5P0 tab 3, sab 1 (no D&C) calls c/o bloody, mucus discharge x 2 days @ 17 weeks gestation. Pt is late registrant who has iffy LMP, scheduled for US for dates in 2 days. Discharge first appeared following intercourse. No pain. Was advised to be seen. Presents to office w/ normal appearing d/c in vagina, cervix w/ extensive erosion and mucoid d/c. Digital exam cervix long, ext os sl patulous, no extensive exam to feel internal os, but probably closed. Fundal height 1 FB below umbilicus, + FHTs. DNA probe for GC/chlamydia obtained because of cervicitis, mucoid d/c at os. Got cervical length us.....1.5-2.0 cm w/ funnelling/beaking. Placenta not lowlying. S>D by 10-14 days. What would you do? (and, yes, I consulted, and yes, there is a plan in place...I'm just curious how other folks would handle this.)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
