Sorry to reply so late..... It has been a busy day. After more discussion I think that it is Canavan's Disease. Since there is uncertainty I am going to arrange for genetic counseling for the patient, but I would like to be able to give her some information concerning this condition. It would also be nice to add to my reference sheets.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
