Re: Pierced Tongue, and what about the umbilicus? From: Braun, R. Daniel (rbraun@iupui.edu)Thu Apr 15 06:47:34 1999
I believe it is "Clitoridi". I had a patient with a tattoo located just at the hair line suprapubically. It consisted of red cherries(2) with crossed stems and green leaves. Above them it said "Here's Mine." And below them it said "Where's yours?" When I quit laughing and apologized, she said"Oh that's OK Dr. everyone does that the first time they see it." Dan R. I seem to see many women with navel rings and tatoos. I have not had a lot of trouble with navel irritation in pregnancy. They usually are left in without complication. My most memorable encounter with body piercing was the day I had TWO patients in an afternoon with rings in their clitoris (yes, right through the clitoris!). The first was an exotic dancer, so I wasn't too surprised, but the second looked just like Susie homemaker. Never a dull moment. Karen J. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
