Bob: I don't think that's his (or her) position at all. It was just a quote. The case could be made that with a significant risk for ovarian CA, a gyn onc should at least be available. I don't disagree that the patient should be given the option of a gyn onc for this type of surgery. In practice, however, I find most women are happy to have them on standby. If I truly believe it is an ovarian cs, I send right to the oncologist, because they do a better job than I do

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
