We also share a desire to continue practicing medicine in a system that is not physician-friendly. You are undoubtedly a good doc, and I am certain your patients receive the best care you can provide them. Practice good medicine, document it, cover your ass, be empathic, and talk to your patients. Obscure studies or not (what's wrong with reading the literature? I provides good fodder for discussion!), it has been demonstrated many times, that a common characteristic of docs that get sued is one of poor patient perception: that "my doctor didn't talk to me, he/she talked down to me, etc." I know you know this. What you say, how you say it, and the general perception people get from communication with you, says a lot. Peace. P.Peterman.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
