Re: Inverted uterusFrom: james connerth (babydoc@apex.net)Mon Mar 15 12:21:01 1999
Iv fluids and replacement-pain relief--if recognized immediately---place inverted fundus in palm of hand and push cephlad--than with hand in uterine cavity-external massgage and methergine or oxytocin.I've done 2--did not need ut. relaxant.Laparotomy usually in cases seen later-should be rarely needed if dx'd quickly.Again shock may be out of proportion to blood loss---is primarily neurogenic as Dan described. luis daniel flores wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
