Low Molecular Weight HeparinFrom: LMontgomery (lmontgomery@communitymed.org)Mon Mar 15 09:32:43 1999
I posted this question a while back, but got no response, so I am going to try once more. Has anybody out there utilized low molecular weight heparin as the anticoagulant for septic pelvic thrombophlebitis (SPT). I have done a literature seach and come up empty. It seems to make sense that since the medicine people are using it for DVT and PE, that it should work for SPT. This would seem to be a good protocol for one of the academic centers to undertake. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
