I cannot speak directly to the issue at hand, but from a surgical standpoint what is the advantage of mesh? The mesh is still attached to fascia with sutures, so ultimately there is no advantage I can see unless there is too big a gap to close easily (which there shouldn't be for a standard hyst).

Please post any info you receive regarding this issue here as the recommendation just makes no sense to me and if there is support for it I would love to learn....
