I have read within the last year or so, but can't remember where, that a woman who was premature is more likely to deliver a premature baby herself. I have had a couple of patients since then who fit the bill, so was extra vigilant about education about s/s of PTL. They still delivered prematurely, but not as early as they might have. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
