That would have been done by Gideon Koren and the people from the excellent "Motherisk" team at Sick Kids in Toronto. Motherisk has an NVP hotline (toll-free in Canada). You can also access them from the Web:

Fortunately for us, Bendectin was reintroduced to Canada a few years ago, under the new name of Diclectin. I have no hesitation prescribing it, as necessary. One very nauseated client joked about getting the "Club Pack" (a variation of Costco amounts up here).

Question: I know that this came up on another list I was on awhile ago. Do you in the US worry about prescribing the Unisom/pyroxidine combo to women from a medico-legal point of view, since Bendectin was withdrawn due to being a "litogen" (i.e. cause of litigation)?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
