Re: OB: Twin delivery/availablity of anesthesiologist--longFrom: Ealgail@aol.comThu Dec 31 09:50:59 1998
In a message dated 98-12-30 22:20:01 EST, you write: << What do ya'll do? Do you agree that I am justified in asking for an MD anesthesiologist or at least an CRNA in the room? >> Will the CRNA start the case without the MD Anesthesiologist in the room, in an emergency? We have CRNA's in the room, but they are not supposed to start a case without the MD present. Some of them will, but I have never been sure I could count on it. By always asking for their presence, if they have a delay, at least the ball is in their court, and you have cya. Linda Linda Morrison-Boczar, MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
