IThis patient's chart was actually referred to me by my boss, the obstetrician I work for. He had no idea what "hand, foot, and mouth" disease was either. He called me after hours (at home) to ask me to take the call and try to find out something about it.

I agree that anyone caring for OB patients should either know everything or be able to learn about it. Thanks for your help.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
