The pt. was 18 yr old & primi gravida. Indication for L.S.C.S was POP . After delivering the baby by L.S.C.S the uterus refused to contract even after Inj . Methergin , i.m ,i.v & local, Inj. pitocin , i.m , i. .v( 4 ampoules in drip), Inj . prostodin. Hot water sponging. We waited for about an hour or so. Pt. continued to bleed . Fearing D.I.C. we performed subtotal hysterectomy. Is there any other line of treatment by which we could have controlled the bleeding & obviously avoided hysterectomy in such a young Pt? Expecting an early reply, Yours DR.Mrs .Manda Soman.
manda@pn2.vsnl.net.in
