I am a strong advocate for medical treament. As I understand it the success rate is between 67-100% with a median of 84 %. A 10% failure rate is a VERY acceptable one. My experience is that there are very few side effetcs. In the worst case scenario you can always go ahead and do a salpingostomy. The ectopics I am seen now are very "different" from a few years ago. The availability of sensitive hCG tests and patient education makes the difference.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
