Welcome back Charlie. You absence was noted. As usual, your post is full of common sense. Dan -----Original Message----- From: charlie chambers [SMTP:cchamb_er@mnic.net] Sent: Sunday, December 06, 1998 12:17 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: be civil Sorry for my absence. 6 month olds will eat up your net time. Congrats to those who passed the boards. Nice to have that stress over, huh? I'd like to make a plea for civility to the list. I personally am skeptical regarding the homeopathic remedies, but she is entitled to her opinion, and to be treated like an adult. There are certainly plenty of treatments that md's use that are without proven benefit but we use routinely, i.e. bed rest, episiotomies, tocolytics, etc. Let's make this a lesson that we all need to qualify statements of fact, vs. statements of personal opinion and anecdotal. And strive to remove from practice the disproven, and study that which is still in debate or anecdotal. We are going to taking care of the same patients for quite some time, we should cooperate. As to VBAC issue, I've recently been involved in a hospital where midwife VBAC privelages were almost taken away, and are now excessively restricted. Two factors caused this, MD paranoia and selfishness, and midwives not wanting to be appropriately restricted in choice of cases.. One lent itself to the other. As usual two sides with both sharing blame.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
