In message <199808310524.PAA12729@blackburn.med.usyd.edu.au>, John Keogh <jkeogh@med.usyd.edu.au> writes >How do members of the list believe placenta praevia prior to delivery is >best managed firstly in women in the third trimester who are >asymptomatic(ie no bleeding at all) but who have placenta praevia picked up >on a scan for something unrelated which is otherwise reassuring about fetal >health. > > secondly in women who have a small bleed but then settle. > >Does the grade of placenta praevia affect your management. > Assymptomatic remain at home until 38 weeks - then if significant degree -> elective LSCS under GA. Small bleeds - once - home after 48 hrs. Rec bleeds stay in until delivered. Degree of PP makes no difference regarding hospitalisation, but affects mode of delivery - to a minor extent. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
