Re: Placenta PraeviaFrom: Thomas Ind (100333.1216@compuserve.com)Mon Aug 31 07:02:09 1998
Surely it depends on the woman. A woman who lives across the road with members of her family around are different to women who live an hour away from medical assistence and on their own. For the former, I would be happy to leave them as an outpatient until the first bleed or C/S date at 39/40. It is the area between this which is grey. The one lesson I have learn't is to tell women not to lock themselves in the lavatory. I've had one bitter experience of a husband engrossed in the 1994 world cup final while his wife was locked in the lavatory bleeding from a placenta praevia. The fire brigade reluctantly attended to knock the door down in the end. Both mother and baby were eventually OK.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
