My annoyance is from the use of "EFM" and meaning a box which generates a strip and the use of "ascultation" and meaning the same technology but no strip. This issue really has almost nothing to do with the use of doppler ultrasound to monitor the fetus during labor, rather its the organic circuits which process the information. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
