Gyn: OCPs

Read a recent article talking about OCPs and DVT - a hot topic in Quebec right now because of a law suit there. One of the points made was the need to discuss discontinuation of OCPs prior to surgery. Was wondering how the list members handle this issue? In a related "vein", recently I have had questions asked about Marvelon, whose reputation I thought had been redeemed - any comments?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
