In a message dated 8/25/98 5:31:54 PM, you wrote: <<This among the most stupid advice I have ever seen from and obstetrician (if true). It rates very close to a woman I saw years ago who had been advised to have a CS if there was active disease at time of labour - her lesions were close to the hair line - a transverse SP incision would have only avoided the area with difficulty. Tell her to see a sensible ob/gyn!>> Just for information purposes, I consulted on a patient some years ago who had a herpes outbreak on her LEG (around the calf) in early-mid pregnancy (not even CLOSE to delivery). She was told by a dermatologist that she should have an abortion. Her ob-gyn then sent her to me because he was a little concerned... Joe P.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
