As I was there when the dr was saying this, I asked several questions to make sure I was clear on the reasoning. This dr has been one of the most sensible I've met, we agree on just about everything else, and we have a great working and relationship (doctor-educator/doula relationship). She is one of the few dr's I've personally worked with who see how a doula can benefit the doctor and nurses by continuously being with mom from home until after birth. A good thing is that I can go to her and say "Hey, I talked to some of the docs on the OBGYN list about this, and they said _______." And she'll listen with an open-mind, and will then investigate further on her own :) **************************************************** Suzanne S. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
