Our practice has had some women w/ extensive condylomata. Some of the teens have had fungating, horrid lesions which caused them great embarassment in pregnancy. They have required multiple visits for treatment/hygiene. When the condylomata have been so extensive, the physicians have often recommended electice c/s....this happens rarely, but has occurred.

OTOH, lots of women have limited, local lesions on the perineum. We have not seen any problems w/ vaginal birth in this circumstance.

We try to aggressively treat the small lesions w/ TCA/BCA so that the hormonal effects of pregnancy do not cause them to spread extensively.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
