Anyhow, I believe you can still try to assess better the position of the placenta. With a full bladder an abdominal scan can usually give you good informations (just a "low" placenta, or a true previa). With the patient not actively bleeding it is even possible to perform a gentle vaginal scan, giving you a clear picture of what is laying beyond the cervix. Not to mention the use of a color doppler for vasa previa.
