Re: ABs in hematoma episiothomyFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comFri Aug 7 10:00:29 1998
In a message dated 8/5/98 6:42:08 PM, you wrote: <<Last monday we have a woman with a n episiothomy hemtoma. She is infected by HIV . Which antibiotic or combination would you use? (I gave her Ampiciline (1gr/6h) and Gentamicine 240 mgr/24.)>> A simple hematoma would not necessitate antibiotics. However, if she's infected somewhere, I would use the same antibiotics you would use on someone who was HIV-negative... Joe P.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
