This discussion brings to mind an article presented at one of the ob/gyn monthly staff meetings. The article concluded "universal administration of single-dose penicillin at birth is a safe and effective intervention for the prevention of early-onset GBS disease." Obstetrics & Gynecology, vol. 86, no. 5. May, 1996. Interesting reading, maybe we need more research.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
