I routinely counsel patients for Acyclovir 400 mg TID from 36 wks to delivery if they have a history of recurrent HSV infections. I'll induce labor also in an "HSV free window" at 39+ wks if the cervix is favorable and dates are good. C Foos, MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
