You already said you don't know why you get the fibrinogen so why get it?????? I still say there is nothing that will change my management if the CBC with platelets is normal. The treatment of pre-eclampsia with or without HELLP is delivery. One of our hospitals has a "DIC" panel (or maybe they did, until HCFA hit), and the nurses always wanted to draw one. Dan, I largely agree, but I kind of like to get an SGOT and a creatinine, as well as the ubiquitous CBC; once you order those 2 chems, you might as well get the panel or whatever thye're offering. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
