Re: Preeclampsia Lab PackageFrom: Malcolm Griffiths (Malcolm@MGRIFF22.demon.co.uk)Sat Jun 27 16:14:51 1998
In message <199806271541.QAA01943@linux.lisse.na>, Dr Eberhard W Lisse <el@linux.lisse.na> writes > >So if I get a patient with a mild hypertension and all lab work normal >I will try to lower her pressure and monitor her. Why are you lowering the blood pressure of a woman with mild (or even moderate) hypertension? There is no benefit. In your setting, where lab tests are limited I would have thought it even more important not to needlessly reduce BP. If you pharmacologically lower BP, you lose one of your main indicators of disease severity and are left with lab tests to monitor progression. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
