Hi: I think that hysterectomy in such conditions increases postop risks to much. I prefer ATB and if there is no response in 48-72 hs I have to dreinage the TOAs transvaginaly, laparoscopicaly or by laparotomy. Then let ATB do their job. First solve the acute problem with minimun risk. If you want, you can take off IUD after 24 hs of ATB. My language is spanish, so I excuse myself for my english. I wait the definition of this case. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
