Seem to remember an article within last 18 mos.regarding perineal massage by Pt.starting around 36 wks. with almond oil--had a decreased incidence of lacerations.Used alot by midwives when I was in Army yrs. ago--never saw a problem with neonatal airway.We occasionaly use Xylocaine jel.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
