Cerclage failureFrom: James Connerth MD (babydoc@pixelation.com)Thu May 7 21:43:26 1998
Nice series published by Frank Bohem(vanderbilt)in last few years regarding emergency cerclage procedures. I have had several successful outcomes with advanced dilitation and bulging or hourglassed membranes with decompression amniocentsis, reducing membranes with 30cc Foley with tip cut off--and a Wurm procedure:mattress sutures thru cervix, anterior to posterior. Most recent twins; put Wurm in at 26 weeks and we got her to 32+weeks-good babies(steroids also). The bad ones,I won't mention.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
