Daniel Braun, MD FACOG Clinical Professor, Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology Indiana University School of Medicine Indianapolis, IN International Representative, U.S. OBGYN.net All men are created unequal. Lazarus Long -----Original Message----- From: Lochabay, David W [SMTP:david.w.lochabay@vanderbilt.edu] Sent: Monday, May 04, 1998 10:05 PM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: birth circumstances 34 weeks. 5 lbs. Forceps assisted delivery. Mother smoked a pack a day. Labor ensued after she ate two Thanksgiving dinners (her parents and dad's parents). Dad tried to support her during a fast labor by reading Aggie jokes aloud (only those from Texas need understand this). Two weeks in the old incubators. However, my dad's is much more interesting. 30 weeks born to a very hard-working ranch woman. Approx 3 lbs. Born at home in 1920s on the South Texas plains. Family doctor came by to weigh him that night and told the family he probably wouldn't make it. They put him in a dresser drawer with sheep's wool and fed breastmilk through a dropper used with lambs. Blind in left eye and slight reading difficulties as a young child. He's still with us. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
