What do you recommend re women with otherwise oncomplicated twin gestation re: stopping work? Should twin gestation at 30 weeks be considered a disability? We customarily recommend that women with twins leave work at approx 30 weeks. I'm having trouble with a disability insurance company who is refusing to pay disability for this woman unless there are mitigating circumstances, since pregnancy per se is not considered a disability. I replied that twin pregnancy was considered high risk. The case manager on the other end of the phone said that was no reason to leave work, but wanted to know if there were *problems* like swollen feet. I was unable to convince them them twin gestation was more of a potential problem requiring a woman to leave work at 30 weeks than swollen feet. Suggestions?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
