How many visits do you practice during a normal pregnancy? once every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, then weekly until delivery, unless clinical course demands more frequent evaluation. Total # of visits depends on gestation at entrance into care.
>2. Do you perform a vaginal exam at each OB visit? No, my schedule is: At initial visit, 35 weeks GBS culture, without digital exam, 41 weeks if she makes it that far.
>3. How do you control the evolution of a delivery? Vaginal exam or not? Moms go into labor spontaneously, unless beyond 41 weeks gestation. I do an exam at initial assessment, and for any apparent change in status, or prior to any procedure. Other than that, I try not to do them by the clock, and attempt to be as non-interventive as possible.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
