For those individuals who truly want to do a painless circ the dorsal nerve block is not the answer. Having used it since 1984, I recently switched to the ring block. It is done halfway down the penile shaft at 1200, 0300, 0600, and 0900 with o,2CC 1% Xylocaine. It is effective in 2-3min and does not have the foreskin separation pain always seen with traditional dorsal nerve blocl. Try it, you'll like it. Robert J. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
