It has been frequently written that carcinoma of the Bartholin's gland has a capacity for direct spread to the pelvic nodes; however, the only case reported is that of Barclay et al., 1964. Pelvic node dissection as part of the basic mx is not necessary unless more than four groin nodes are involved (Curry et al., 1980) or the tumour is larger than 4 cm in dfiameter (Monaghan & Hammond, 1984).
